Coastal food in India is naturally related closely to the bounty from the seas. The different coast specialities as per the fish found in those particular waters are a plenty. But one favourite delicacy among sea food lovers are crab based dishes. Indian Food Recipes are usually passed down from generation to generation and the food is cooked even today as per the olden day specifications.
Ingredients for nandu varaiyal :
Crab 1 kg Turmeric powder ¼ tsp
Black sesame seed powder 3 tsp Salt to taste
Pepper Powder 2 tsp Cummin seed pwder 2 tsp
Chilly Powder 1 tsp Curry Leaves a few
Green chillies chopped 5 small Coconut oil 100 ml
Method :
In a thick bottom vessel heat coconut oil and fry curry leaves. Add black sesame seed powder, pepper powder, cummin seed powder and fry for 2 minutes. Add turmeric powder. Add green chillies and saute. Now add the crab pieces stir for a minute. Pour 2 cups of water and cook. When the crab is done, check for salt and seasoning.Serve hot. |
